We Tree Kings have been supporting local charities in the areas we trade in since we founded the business, we plan to continue giving back by supporting a number of familiar, and new, charitable organisations for 2018
Last year we expanded our program with Newlands Bishop Farm, which gives people with learning difficulties and mental health issues the opportunity to learn employment-based skills. Newlands Bishop's service users were involved in the marketing, retail and delivery of trees with us, with profits being kept by the charity. This year we are handing over one of our retail sites to them to run in partnership with us. All profits from the Solihull site will be going to the farm, and we will be continuing to develop our partnership with the organisation in years to come. Newlands Bishop Farm will also be selling our trees from their own site in Catherine-de-Barnes. Pop down and visit the site, and check out the cafe for delicious cakes and treats, all produced by their service users!
We are excited to announce a new partnership with London-based charity Hackney Pirates. The Hackney Pirates is an enterprising charity working to develop the literacy, confidence and perseverance of young people in Hackney, so that they achieve both in school and in the world beyond. Working together with local schools, families and volunteers, they deliver unique real-world learning projects in their own unconventional learning environment, the Ship of Adventures.
Another new and exciting partnership for this year is the work we will be doing in conjunction with Hope Centre Northampton. Hope is a progressive anti-poverty charity that works to improve the lives of anyone affected by poverty, especially homelessness; through services, training, campaigning and advocacy in and around Northampton. They offer a whole range of services including, but not limited to; campaigning, emergency shelter, employability workshops, providing access to healthy and affordable food, and inspiring continuous learning. We Tree Kings will be donating a tree to the day welcome centre in Northampton, as well as promoting the work that Hope do in the community across our sites.
To repeat our efforts last year, we will again be proud sponsors of the NSPCC's Festival of Christmas Trees, donating some beautiful 8 footers and adorning the We Tree Kings tree with decorations produced by the guys at Newlands Bishop Farm. We're proud to be part of this fantastic charity and hope to keep adding to the thousands of pounds we've raised for them over the years.
Keep an eye out on social media for updates on all the work we are doing in our local communities as the season progresses.
If you represent, or have involvement with, a charity which you think would benefit from partnering with We Tree Kings, then drop us a line and let us know!
